Why God Used Prophesy Through Tongues At Pentecost
Prophesy
Jesus gave the keys, to the door, of the KINGDOM OF GOD to Peter on the day of Pentecost. Then Peter through
prophesy would give these keys unto Israel, the church. These keys would be uttered through the mouth of Peter
by the power of the Holy Ghost. These words of prophecy, when obeyed, will give the gift of the Holy Ghost unto
all that receive Jesus Christ as their personal Savior, and obey Acts 2:38. (Acts 2:38 KJV) Then Peter said
unto them, REPENT, and be BAPTIZED EVERY ONE OF YOU in the NAME OF JESUS CHRIST for the
REMISSION OF SINS, and ye SHALL RECEIVE the GIFT OF THE HOLY GHOST.
To receive the gift of the Holy Ghost is to be filled with the spirit of God, or the spirit of Christ Jesus.
It was prophesied, by Joel, that when the spirit was poured out UPON all flesh that they would
prophecy. (Acts 2:17 KJV) And it shall come to pass in the LAST DAYS, saith God, I will POUR OUT OF MY SPIRIT UPON
ALL FLESH: and YOUR SONS and YOUR DAUGHTERS SHALL PROPHESY, and your YOUNG MEN SHALL SEE VISIONS,
and YOUR OLD MEN SHALL DREAM DREAMS.
The greatest gift of the Holy Ghost, spirit of God, is always the gift of prophecy. When someone starts
prophesying it makes them a witness, or a preacher of the word. Everyone that receives the Holy Ghost will
be a witness through prophecy. They will tell the marvelous works of God unto all. (1 Cor 14:5 KJV) I would
that ye ALL SPAKE WITH TONGUES, but RATHER THAT YE PROPHESIED: for GREATER IS HE THAT PROPHESIETH than he
that SPEAKETH WITH TONGUES, except he interpret, that the CHURCH MAY RECEIVE EDIFYING.
Every Christian believer is a witness. Jesus said that we are his witnesses. (Acts 1:8 KJV) But ye shall
receive POWER, after that the Holy Ghost is COME UPON YOU: and ye
SHALL BE WITNESSES unto me both in
Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the UTTERMOST PART OF THE EARTH. Every Christian
preaches, or witnesses by proclaiming the gospel. Each one does this according to the faith that he has
received from God. One is to minister according to the ability, which God gives.
Tradition teaches a preacher is a pastor, or a clergyman only; this is not a valid teaching. Every Christian
meets the qualification to preach, or witness. To preach means to urge acceptance or abandonment of an idea
or course of action. Preaching is prophesy because prophesy has several different meanings. Prophesy means
to give instruction in religious matters by using the word of God. Prophesy means to utter by divine
inspiration from God. Prophesy means to predict with assurance what will happen if you do not follow Jesus.
When the world is informed about a future coming of Jesus, a future heaven or a future hell it is prophesy.
All Christians when they speak and teach about these coming events prophesy.
Every person that spoke, being understood, in tongues on the day of Pentecost prophesied the words of God.
(Acts 2:16 KJV) But THIS IS THAT which WAS SPOKEN by the prophet JOEL. The Holy Ghost was poured upon the
sons and the daughters of Israel. They prophesied in tongues telling the wonderful works of Jesus Christ.
The church through prophesy received edification as it had never before received. Enlightenment of Jesus
Christ being the Son Of God and the Savior of the world was preached unto devout men from every nation.
Prophesy through tongues would fulfill Isaiah's prophesy also. Isaiah had foretold that through other
tongues God would speak to the children of Israel. (Isa 28:11 KJV) For with STAMMERING LIPS and ANOTHER
TONGUE will he speak to this people. This prophesy of Isaiah's was fulfilled at Pentecost.
At Pentecost there were Jews from all nations of the world. (Acts 2:5 KJV) And there were dwelling at
Jerusalem JEWS, DEVOUT MEN, out of EVERY NATION UNDER HEAVEN. (Acts 2:8 KJV) And how hear we
every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born? Acts 2:9 KJV) Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the
dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia, Acts 2:10 KJV) Phrygia, and
Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes,
Acts 2:11 KJV) Cretes and Arabians, WE DO HEAR THEM SPEAK IN OUR TONGUES THE WONDERFUL WORKS OF GOD.
If the tongues, that were spoken on the day of Pentecost, would not have been understood by the devout men
that were out of every nation, there would have been no edification unto God. There would have been no
fulfillment of the prophesies of Joel, Isaiah, or of Jesus Messiah. The prophesy that the word would FIRST
BE PREACHED IN JERUSALEM and then would go into the whole world would not have taken place. The prophecy of
Jesus stated the word would be preached unto all nations starting at Jerusalem. The devout Jews that were in
Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost carried the gospel back to all the nations that they were from. (Luke 24:47
KJV) And that REPENTANCE and REMISSION OF SINS should BE PREACHED in HIS NAME AMONG ALL NATIONS, BEGINNING
at JERUSALEM.
(Rom 10:18 KJV) But I say, HAVE THEY NOT HEARD? Yes verily, THEIR SOUND WENT INTO ALL THE EARTH, and THEIR
WORDS UNTO THE ENDS OF THE WORLD. The witness of Jesus Christ went unto the ends of the world through the
prophesy in other tongues on the day of Pentecost.
Peter confirmed what the prophet Joel had prophesied. He stated that when the new covenant church was filled
with the Holy Ghost they would prophesy, dream dreams, and see visions. All of the signs in the book of Mark,
sixteenth chapter, follow the church. All of the gifts are given to the body and different gifts are
displayed in different members. It was the church, under the new covenant, that was filled with the Holy
Ghost at Pentecost. Anytime a temple is FILLED, WITH THE HOLY GHOST, there will be a super natural
experience. This can take place just like it states in the word of God. Never have I heard it preached, in a
oneness church, that they spoke in tongues and prophesied on the day of Pentecost. They do not see the
prophecy, only tongues. Yet it is a fact that Joel said, "YOUR SONS AND YOUR DAUGHTERS WILL PROPHESY."
The tongues that where spoken at Cornelius's house were understood by the Apostles. The Apostles heard them
magnify God, and praise him. It was poured out on the Gentiles the exact same way as it was poured out on the
Jews on the day of Pentecost. (Acts 10:46 KJV) For they heard them SPEAK WITH TONGUES, and
MAGNIFY GOD. The
Holy Ghost is not tongues, but tongues are a gift of the Holy Ghost. Apostolic churches have no more proof
that tongues is the evidence of the Holy Ghost, than do the Trinity churches have scriptures to prove their
Trinity doctrine. Why do neither sect have proof of their doctrines? According to the word of God both of
these teachings are in error. If the evidence of the Holy Ghost is tongues, then everyone who speaks in any
other language has the Holy Ghost.
Anyone who teaches this doctrine of tongues being the evidence of the Holy Ghost is ignorant to the teaching
of Paul. If anyone speaks a language that no one understands it is an unknown tongue. On the day of Pentecost
there was prophecy through other tongues that were understood by all. The sons and daughters of Israel did
prophecy, and speak in other tongues as Joel and Isaiah had stated that they would.
Later Peter dreamed a dream and had a vision that sent him to Cornelius' house. This also was a fulfillment
of the prophesy of Joel. It took place after Pentecost showing that other signs would also follow those that
were filled with the Holy Ghost. (Acts 10:9 KJV) On the morrow, as they went on their journey, and drew
nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour: (Acts 10:10 KJV) And he
became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, HE FELL INTO A TRANCE, (Acts 10:11 KJV)
And SAW HEAVEN OPENED, and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the
four corners, and let down to the earth.
In the denominational Apostolic churches of today they speak languages that are not understood making them
unknown. There is no interpretation, or prophecy; this order in no way resembles the order of what took place
at Pentecost, or Cornelius's house.
(1 Cor 14:38 KJV) But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant. (1 Cor 14:39 KJV) Wherefore, brethren,
COVET TO PROPHESY, and FORBID NOT TO SPEAK WITH TONGUES. Paul knew the Corinthian church had the same
confusion about tongues as the Pentecostal denominations have today. You must remember that the Corinthian
church was on milk. This is why Paul taught the complete revelation about tongues and how they are to work
in the church.
When someone is filled with the Holy Ghost any of these signs can take place: prophecy, tongues, dreams,
visions, being slain in the spirit, and etc. Jesus said, "we would RECEIVE POWER after we had received the
Holy Ghost and that all of these signS would follow the church, or his body." (Mark 16:17 KJV)
And these SIGNS shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they CAST OUT DEVILS; they
shall speak with NEW TONGUES; (Mark 16:18 KJV) They shall TAKE UP SERPENTS; and if they DRINK any
DEADLY THING, it shall not hurt them; they SHALL LAY HANDS ON THE SICK, and THEY SHALL
RECOVER. All of the saints (CHURCH) are the believers
and all of these signS shall follow them, not just one sign.
The Charismatic Catholics believe tongues is the evidence of the Holy Ghost. The Pope probably speaks in
tongues, and prophesies more than any man. Does the Pope have the Holy Ghost? God forbid! The Pope is
Antichrist, and preaches another Jesus. Is tongues the evidence of the Holy Ghost for just some Christians
or should true evidence be an evidence for all that do the same thing?
There is the exact prophecy of God, true tongues from God, and indisputable miracles of God today, because
these signs still follow the body of God or the church. Do not fail to realize that all signs follow the
false church also. (2 Th 2:9 KJV) Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with ALL POWER and
SIGNS and LYING WONDERS. (Mat 24:24 KJV) For there shall arise false
Christ's, and false prophets, and SHALL
SHOW GREAT SIGNS and WONDERS; insomuch that, IF IT WERE POSSIBLE, they shall DECEIVE THE VERY ELECT. Because
the signs follow both churches it is impossible for any sign to be the evidence of the Holy Ghost.
When someone receives the baptism of the Holy Ghost the power of God is given and a wonderful change of
cleansing will take place. That believer will know by a glorious and super natural experience that it has
taken place. We all must be born of the water and we must all be born of the spirit, the Holy Ghost.
Pastors do not be bound by the statements of faith of the denominations. Do not accept the untruths that
cannot be proven by the word of God. You the pastors are responsible for the truth. If you sell out for
fellowship and do not sound, the blood of the people will be upon your hands. Therefore we must study and
rightly divide the word of God. (2 Tim 2:15 KJV) STUDY TO SHOW THYSELF APPROVED UNTO GOD, a workman that
needeth not to be ashamed, RIGHTLY DIVIDING THE WORD OF TRUTH.
The first ones, in the New Testament, that were filled with the Holy Ghost prophesied. These were Zacharias,
Elisabeth, and Mary. John the Baptist was filled with the Holy Ghost in Elisabeth's womb. John the Baptist
was one of the greatest prophets that ever lived. (Mat 11:11 KJV) Verily I say unto you, Among them that are
BORN OF WOMEN there hath NOT RISEN A GREATER THAN JOHN THE BAPTIST: notwithstanding he that is least in the
kingdom of heaven is greater than he. The next place that we find, in the New Testament, where believers were
filled with the Holy Ghost is on the day of Pentecost. All of these believers prophesied through tongues as
foretold by the prophets of old.
The revelation of Jesus Christ is the rock that the church is built upon. This revelation comes only through
prophesy. (Rev 19:10 KJV) And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I
am thy fellow servant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the TESTIMONY OF
JESUS IS THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY.
All true saints testify and are witnesses of Jesus Messiah. (Rev 12:11 KJV) And they overcame him by the
blood of the Lamb, and by the WORD OF THEIR TESTIMONY; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
(Rev 12:17 KJV) And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed,
which keep the commandments of God, and HAVE THE TESTIMONY OF JESUS CHRIST.
The Gentiles were understood to have magnified God in the tenth chapter of Acts. In Acts chapter four they
were filled with the Holy Ghost and spoke (PROPHESIED) the word of God with boldness. In the nineteenth
chapter of Acts, again they prophesied by speaking in other tongues. Once you understand that the greatest
thing that took place on the day of Pentecost was prophesy, it makes it crystal-clear why Paul stated that
he would rather that we be a prophesier. Prophesy exalts Jesus and testifies of him. The church is made a
witness unto all of the world through prophesy. (Rev 10:11 KJV) And he said unto me, Thou MUST PROPHESY
again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings. The book of Revelation has gone into all
of the world.
There is no doubt that the teaching of tongues as the evidence of the in dwelling of the Holy Ghost is false.
The MOST IMPORTANT GIFT to the church is prophesy. Prophecy is not the evidence of God's spirit either
because there are false prophets also. The evidence of the in dwelling of the Holy Ghost is the fruit of
the spirit. (Mat 7:20 KJV) Wherefore by THEIR FRUITS YE SHALL KNOW THEM.
I read an article called, " WHY GOD CHOSE TONGUES? " The truth is God did not choose tongues as the
evidence of the Holy Ghost. God chose the fruits of the spirit as the evidence of one being Holy Ghost filled.
Paul always placed emphasis on prophesy, as did the whole word of God. The prophets of old prophesied when
the Holy Ghost came upon them, just as they did when the Holy Ghost came upon them in the New Testament.
(1 Cor 14:5 KJV) I WOULD that YE ALL SPAKE WITH TONGUES, but RATHER THAT YE PROPHESIED: FOR GREATER IS HE
THAT PROPHESIETH than he that SPEAKETH WITH TONGUES, except he interpret, that the CHURCH MAY RECEIVE
EDIFYING. Paul would not have desired that you have the gift of prophesy above the gift of speaking in
tongues if tongues was the undisputable evidence of the Holy Ghost. Paul desired the most important gift
for all. If tongues were the evidence of the Holy Ghost, Paul or Peter would have left no doubt that you
absolutely had to speak in other tongues.
Paul could not have made it more clear-cut about tongues and in what order that they are to be used. Let
everything be done in order and let all gifts edify God and not man. The Holy Ghost is the gift of Jesus
Messiah's spirit and Jesus Messiah's spirit, which is the Holy Ghost, is the spirit of God, and this one
spirit is the giver of all gifts. Always remember that the testimony of Jesus Messiah is the spirit of
prophecy.
The church was edified on the day of Pentecost when the sons and daughters of Israel prophesied through other
tongues to those of all nations. This is when the testimony of Jesus Christ was carried into all nations of
the world.
The gift of prophesy requires that the HOLY GHOST TAKE CONTROL OF THE TONGUE. This is the new tongue
referred to in the book of Mark. Without the witness and the testimony of Jesus Christ, through the saints,
there would be no kingdom of God in this world. We are in this world but we are not part of it.
(Mat 21:42 KJV) Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders
rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvelous in our
eyes? (Mat 21:43 KJV) Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a
nation bringing forth the FRUITS thereof.
The only difference between the true church, and the false church is: The true church can only bring forth good fruit from the tree of life. The false church brings forth good and evil fruit. This is brought forth from the seed of the tree that produces good and evil. All people that remain in the flesh of the old man is a member of the tree of good and evil, which corrupts the whole tree.
(2 Tim 2:20 KJV) But in a GREAT HOUSE there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to HONOR, and some to DISHONOR. There is one creation of God and in this one house of creation the true church and the false church exist together. We are in this world, but we are not of it.
(Rev 13:13 KJV) And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh FIRE come down from heaven on the earth in the SIGHT OF MEN. The Holy Ghost is represented by FIRE, but so is the unholy ghost. The unholy ghost will appear and imitate the real spirit of God through signs. The same signs that follow the true prophets of God also follow the false prophets. (Mat 24:24 KJV) For there shall arise false Christ's, and false prophets, and shall show GREAT SIGNS and WONDERS; insomuch that, IF it were possible, they shall DECEIVE the very ELECT. Look at how many TV evangelist in this country appear to have the FIRE or the (HOLY GHOST) by the signs that they appear to perform.
By the power of God I speak in tongues, and have other gifts. I also desire, as Paul desired, that all would speak in tongues as the spirit of Christ Jesus gives utterance. However, all gifts of the spirit of God should be persuaded by every saint through fasting and prayer.

EVIDENCE - something that FURNISHES PROOF : TESTIMONY ; specif : something legally submitted to a TRIBUNAL TO ASCERTAIN THE TRUTH OF A MATTER, ONE WHO BEARS WITNESS.
(Rev 19:10 KJV) And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellow servant, and of thy brethren that have the TESTIMONY OF JESUS: worship God: for the TESTIMONY OF JESUS is the SPIRIT OF PROPHECY.
If you go to court you have witnesses that testify for you. These witnesses prove your innocence by being your proof. We are the witnesses of Christ Jesus. We prove Christ Jesus is real through our testimony. These testimonies of the saints is the spirit of prophecy that goes forth. All witnesses of Jesus Christ prophesy through the word of God.
PROOF - something that induces CERTAINTY or ESTABLISHES VALIDITY.
(Acts 2:1 KJV) And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. (Acts 2:2 KJV) And suddenly there came a SOUND from heaven as of a RUSHING MIGHTY WIND, and it FILLED all the HOUSE where they were sitting. (Acts 2:3 KJV) And there appeared unto them CLOVEN TONGUES like as of FIRE, and it sat upon each of them. (Acts 2:4 KJV) And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to SPEAK WITH OTHER TONGUES, as the Spirit gave them UTTERANCE. (Acts 2:5 KJV) And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of EVERY NATION UNDER HEAVEN. (Acts 2:6 KJV) Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them SPEAK in his OWN LANGUAGE. (Acts 2:7 KJV) And they were all amazed and marveled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which SPEAK Galileans? (Acts 2:8 KJV) And how HEAR we every man in OUR OWN TONGUE, wherein we WERE BORN?
When we read the word of God we find the first four people filled with the Holy Ghost in the New Testament were Elisabeth, John, Mary and Zacharias. We know that the same Holy Ghost that they were filled with is the same Holy Ghost that we are filled with; there is only one Holy Ghost. This Holy Ghost is the same that fell on the day of Pentecost. (Luke 1:41) And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was FILLED with the HOLY GHOST: Verse 42 states: she spoke out, or prophesied because the Spirit revealed that the child Mary carried was blessed. (Luke 1:42) And she SPAKE out with a LOUD VOICE, and said, Blessed [art] thou among women, and blessed [is] the fruit of thy womb. (Luke 1: 46 - 55) talks about what happened when the Spirit took control of Mary. She magnified the Lord and prophesied. (Luke 1:46) And Mary said, My soul doth MAGNIFY the Lord, (Luke 1:47) And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Savior. (Luke 1:48) For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed.
Zacharias was FILLED with the Holy Ghost and prophesied. (Luke 1:67) And his father Zacharias was FILLED with the Holy Ghost, and PROPHESIED, saying.
MAGNIFY - 3170. megaluno, meg-al-oo'-no; from G3173; to make (or DECLARE) great, i.e. increase or (fig.) extol:--WEBSTER - enlarge, magnify, shew great. extol, laud b : to cause to be HELD in GREATER ESTEEM or RESPECT : to increase in significance : intensify : exaggerate : to ENLARGE in fact or in APPEARANCE ~ vi : to have the power of causing objects to appear LARGER THAN THEY ARE.
Note, the FIRST THREE people FILLED with the Holy Ghost IN THE NEW TESTAMENT prophesied. The fourth (JOHN) was in his mother's womb. A lot of people believe that TONGUES is the EVIDENCE of RECEIVING the HOLY GHOST, but let us study all of the places mentioned about the IN-FILLING of the Holy Ghost.
(Acts 13:52) And the disciples were FILLED with JOY, and with the Holy Ghost. Note again, it states JOY, which is a GIFT of the Holy Ghost. (Acts 10:46) For they HEARD them SPEAK WITH TONGUES, and MAGNIFY God. These men were understood by the Apostles because they knew God was MAGNIFIED. They did speak with tongues, which complies perfectly with the WORD, because it also is a GIFT of the Holy Ghost.
The first place it mentioned tongues in the New Testament is: (Mark 16:17) And these SIGNS shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they CAST OUT DEVILS; they shall SPEAK with NEW TONGUES; and if they DRINK any DEADLY THING, it shall not hurt them; they shall LAY HANDS on the SICK, and they SHALL RECOVER. Look at everything that is mentioned here and realize if you have to do one of these things, you have to do them all. Yet all of these signs have followed different members of the church.
I have had family members do all of the above. They belonged to the Apostolic church that believed in snake handling, drinking poison, and they believed that tongues was the evidence of the Holy Ghost baptism. Some of these have been healed, some do drink poison, and they do take up rattle snakes, and they are not harmed. This proved nothing to me because some of these people's fruit were not of God. I have stood and had people speak in tongues and understood that it was a message straight from Satan himself. (2 Th 2:9 KJV) Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with ALL POWER and SIGNS and LYING WONDERS.
Tongues is a SIGN and ALL POWER and SIGNS and LYING WONDERS are given to him whose coming is after Satan. If Satan's children speak in tongues, is it THE EVIDENCE of the Holy Ghost? If he shows all of the signs, is it evidence of the Holy Ghost? (Mat 16:4 KJV) A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a SIGN; and there shall no SIGN be given unto it, but the SIGN of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed. Why are so many people looking for the sign of tongues?
It is also quite common for someone in the occult to be demon possessed and speak in tongues and prophesy. Many false prophets and evil ones speak in tongues and prophesy. (Mat 7:22 KJV) Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not PROPHESIED in thy NAME? and in thy name have CAST OUT DEVILS? and in thy name done many WONDERFUL WORKS? (Mat 7:23 KJV) And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that WORK INIQUITY.
The word of God plainly states tongues is a sign for the unbeliever. (1 Cor 14:22 KJV) Wherefore TONGUES are for a SIGN, not to them that BELIEVE, but to them that BELIEVE NOT: but PROPHESYING serveth not for them that BELIEVE NOT, but for them which BELIEVE. This teaching of Paul's is being taught in reverse in the Pentecostal Denominations.
What we want to do is to rightly divide the word of God and not follow men who add to the word of God. We want to edify the body of Christ Jesus and not ourselves. It is so easy to get in the flesh and to glorify oneself or it is common to be unfamiliar to the true teachings of Paul. His teachings are not being taught correctly in the Pentecostal denominations. (1 Cor 14:4 KJV) HE that speaketh in an unknown tongue EDIFIETH HIMSELF; but HE that PROPHESIETH EDIFIETH THE CHURCH.
(Mat 7:20 KJV) Wherefore by their FRUITS YE SHALL KNOW THEM. Remember tongues began in Babylon, and a lot of what some think is the Holy Ghost is babble. There is much confusion in the denominations due to false prophesy and the tongues of Satan. Satan rejoices because he deceives many people through these lying signs.
What is spoken in the churches should not be babble, but it should be understood. (1 Cor 14:7 KJV) And even things without life GIVING SOUND, whether PIPE OR HARP, except they GIVE A DISTINCTION in the sounds, HOW SHALL IT BE KNOWN WHAT IS PIPED OR HARPED? (1 Cor 14:8 KJV) For if the TRUMPET GIVE AN UNCERTAIN SOUND, WHO SHALL PREPARE himself to the battle?
(Acts 2:3) And there APPEARED unto them cloven TONGUES like as of FIRE, and it sat upon each of them. (Acts 2:4) And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to SPEAK with OTHER TONGUES as the Spirit gave them utterance. It says OTHER tongues, not UNKNOWN tongues. This event was a sign to the unbelievers, not the believers. Three thousand souls were added to the church that day.
Before we go any further, I will list the Spiritual Gifts. (I Corinthians 12:8) For to one is given by the Spirit the word of WISDOM; to another the word of KNOWLEDGE by the same Spirit; (I Corinthians 12:9) To another FAITH by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of HEALING by the same Spirit; (I Corinthians 12:10) To another the working of MIRACLES; to another PROPHECY; to another DISCERNING of spirits; to another [DIVER] kinds of TONGUES; to another the INTERPRETATION of TONGUES: (I Corinthians 12:28) And God hath set some in the church, first APOSTLES, secondarily PROPHETS, thirdly TEACHERS, after that MIRACLES, then gifts of HEALING, HELPS, GOVERNMENTS, DIVERSITIES of TONGUES.
Any of these gifts can be received at the time someone receives the Baptism of the Holy Ghost. We know that it is not required that anyone have all of the gifts, including tongues. Paul asked: (I Corinthians 12:29) [Are] all APOSTLES? [are] all PROPHETS? [are] all TEACHERS? [are] all workers of MIRACLES? (I Corinthians 12:30) Have all the gifts of HEALING? do all speak with TONGUES? do all INTERPRET? We know the answer to all of these questions. The answer is NO!
Some claim because Paul asked the question, "do all speak with tongues?" That there are two different tongues and that other tongues is not the same as an unknown tongue. The fact is that there are many different languages and that any language that is not understood by someone is an unknown tongue to them. Paul stated that all do not speak with tongues by the question he asked. Paul was a great teacher through the spirit and he leaves no doubt that all do not speak with tongues. The truth is SUPER NATURAL TONGUES are SUPER NATURAL TONGUES, and Paul asked do all speak with tongues referring to ANY SUPER NATURAL TONGUES that was from God.
Verses where tongues were received are found in: (Acts 2:4 KJV) And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. (Acts 10:46) For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. (Acts 19:6) And when Paul had laid [his] hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.
Verses found where tongues were not spoken, but they received the Holy Ghost are: (Luke 1:41) And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost: (Luke 1:67) And his father Zacharias was filled with the Holy Ghost, and prophesied, saying, (Acts 4:8) Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel, (Acts 4:31) And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were ALL FILLED with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with BOLDNESS.
Tongues is a lesser gift than prophesy. (I Corinthians 14:5) I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied: FOR GREATER [IS] HE THAT PROPHESIETH than he that speaketh with TONGUES, except HE INTERPRET, that the church may receive edifying. If tongues would have been the evidence of the Holy Ghost, Paul wouldn't have stated that he would rather that you be a prophesier. Tongues here refers to all supernatural tongues that are from God.
Do you read, in the word, where the question was ever asked, "HAVE YOU SPOKEN IN TONGUES SINCE YOU BELIEVED?" This is a question that is asked by almost all in the denominations of the Pentecostal. Yet it never was asked in the word by any Apostle. Do you ever read where any Apostle or anyone ever stated, "that if you have not spoken in tongues you do not have the Holy Ghost?" Why do the ones who claim to be Apostolic do what the Apostles never did nor never taught?
The devil has people believing just the opposite of what the WORD says. Tongues is for them that believe not. (I Corinthians 14:22) Wherefore TONGUES are for a SIGN, not to them that BELIEVE, but to them that BELIEVE NOT: but PROPHESYING [serveth] not for them that BELIEVE NOT, but for them which BELIEVE. But we know some men are ignorant to this fact. So forbid them not to speak with tongues: (I Corinthians 14:38) But if any man be IGNORANT, let him be IGNORANT. (I Corinthians 14:39) Wherefore, brethren, COVET TO PROPHESY, and FORBID NOT to SPEAK WITH TONGUES. Unfamiliarity of sound doctrine among the brethren has taught saints to covet tongues over prophesy.
Jesus said, "(Matthew 7:16) Ye SHALL KNOW them by their FRUITS. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? These fruits are listed in (Galatians 5:22) But the FRUIT of the Spirit is LOVE, JOY, PEACE, LONGSUFFERING, GENTLENESS, GOODNESS, FAITH, (Galatians 5:23) MEEKNESS, TEMPERANCE: against such there is no law. Be careful, the false church talks in tongues and still babbles confusion today being Babylon. I want all of the signs that the Lord promised following my ministry. Tongues is a real gift of God that everyone should desire. Yet no sign is the true evidence of the Holy Ghost although it is being falsely taught that way.
No malice intended but this doctrine is unfamiliarity of the scriptures and the true teachings of the
Apostles. The Holy Ghost (SPIRIT OF GOD) itself is the greatest gift of all. The Holy Ghost is the giver
of all of the gifts unto the church.
My desire is that you will allow the Holy Ghost to lead you. By the grace of my Lord and Savior, I speak in other tongues, prophesy, and I interpret, but the fruit that I produce unto God is the most important thing to God.
Because I teach against the Trinity heresy, and I believe in baptizing in Jesus name (ACTS 2:38) I am rejected by the Trinity Denominations. Because I know that tongues is not the biblical evidence of the in-filling of the Holy Ghost, all Pentecostal Denominations come against me, Trinity and Oneness Denominations!
If you look through the eyes of the blinded you also will be blinded. You will accept false doctrine and be deceived about truth. Pagan and Trinity doctrine has not only infiltrated the church through the doctrine of tongues being the evidence of one receiving the Holy Ghost, but pagan holidays, and the wrong interpretations of the books of prophecy are prominent. (Mat 15:14 KJV) Let them alone: THEY BE BLIND LEADERS OF THE BLIND. And if the BLIND LEAD THE BLIND, BOTH SHALL FALL INTO THE DITCH.
We as true Apostolic Messianic Christians need to expose the pagan doctrines that have been handed down to the oneness believers, through the denominations, that claim to be fully in the truth. We need to come against the teachings of Pre-Trib, Mid-Trib, Pagan Holidays, Denominationalist, Trinity Heresies, Once In Grace Always In Grace, The Gifts Of The Spirit Have Ceased, God Accepting The Ashes Of The Red Heifer As A Sacrifice For The Jews Again, and Trinitarian End Time Teachings.
You can be an independent believer, and hold onto false teachings. The umbilical cord that runs from the whore, AHOLIBAH, unto all denominations needs to be completely severed. (Rev 18:4 KJV) And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, COME OUT OF HER, MY PEOPLE, that ye BE NOT PARTAKERS OF HER SINS, and that ye RECEIVE NOT OF HER PLAGUES.
Instead of the umbilical cords to the whore being cut; the umbilical cords of the tabernacle of God have been broken, with some, because of the heresy doctrine of Babylon, the denominations of men. (Jer 10:20 KJV) My TABERNACLE IS SPOILED, and all MY CORDS ARE BROKEN: my children are gone forth of me, and they are not: there is NONE TO STRETCH FORTH MY TENT ANY MORE, and to SET UP MY CURTAINS. Our ties should only be to Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Let us pitch our spiritual tabernacle according to the word of God.
Traditional teachings from the Azusa Street revival in Los Angeles have gone world wide. This rival started in the year of 1906 and it became known as the Pentecostal movement. The Trinity Broadcasting Network, Charismatic Churches, Trinity Pentecostal Denominations, and the Apostolic Denominations are descendants of this movement.
As a result of this so called Topeka Pentecost, Charles Fox Parham, FORMER METHODIST pastor, formulated the doctrine that tongues was the "BIBLE EVIDENCE" of the baptism in the Holy Spirit. This doctrine had never been taught in any of the prior denominations. Neither was this doctrine taught by the Apostles.
According to American history, the first person to be baptized in the Holy Spirit accompanied by speaking in tongues was Agnes Ozman, one of Parham's Bible School students, who spoke in tongues on the very first day of the new century, January 1, 1901. According to J. Roswell Flower, the FOUNDING SECRETARY of the ASSEMBLIES OF GOD, Ozman's experience was the "TOUCH FELT AROUND THE WORLD," an event which " made the Pentecostal Movement of the Twentieth Century."
All of the men, in America, that formulated that tongues was the evidence of the Holy Ghost were believers in the Trinity, to start with. After Ozman's experience of speaking in tongues, the Pentecostal preached that tongues was the evidence of being filled with the Holy Ghost. Some of these men taught missionaries would be able to travel the world and not have to learn the languages of other countries in order to spread the gospel.
The Oneness Denominations broke off from the Trinity Denominations and hold to many teachings of the Trinitarians. They take part in pagan holidays, accept their teachings of the books of prophecy, and have accepted the formulated doctrine that tongues is the "BIBLE EVIDENCE" of the baptism in the Holy Spirit.
The largest oneness denomination is the U.P.C.I. The U.P.C.I. emerged out of the Pentecostal movement that began in Topeka, Kansas in 1901. It traces its organizational roots to October 1916, when a large group of ministers withdrew from the ASSEMBLIES OF GOD over the doctrinal issues of the oneness of God and water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ. The ones that broke away still held to the belief that the evidence of the Holy Ghost was tongues. If tongues is the evidence of the in-filling of the Holy Ghost, then all Trinity denominations are lead by the Holy Ghost and all that speak in other tongues have the Holy Ghost.
The U.P.C.I. sees more truth, about the Godhead, than the ASSEMBLIES OF GOD, but their leaders still hold to some of the teachings of the Nicolaitanes. They allow their children to learn the ways of the heathen. Pagan holidays are celebrated with the idols that are used by the ungodly. They do this ignorantly leaning to the lust of the flesh and the traditions of men. They allow decorated eggs and decorated trees to be associated with the birth, and resurrection of our precious Lord Jesus.
Jesus would never belong to any of the denominations of today. Much paganism of the Trinitarians are among the Oneness Denominations. I thank God for the truth that is being seen, and pray God continue to separate his men from man made organizations. I make this statement with no maliciousness intended, "All denominations are religious clubs that have accepted Babylonian doctrine." I pray that everyone only be members of the one body of God, the church.
Jesus Christ would never carry a license of any organization. A license of ordination stops the freedom of a man from speaking the word. They also keep one from growing in spirit and in truth by applying peer pressure. If Jesus was still walking the earth, his ministry would still be essentially on the hillsides, in the homes, on the highways and the byways.
Jesus would never preach in any church of any sect that required him to be licensed by them. When you have to carry a license, from a denomination, you can only be free within the limitation of that denomination's statement of faith. This places man at the head of that denomination and not God. If God reveals more than what is seen, in their statement of faith, the man of God*s license is revoked for preaching different doctrine than what is seen by that sect. It is the truth of God that separates the children of God from the denominations and the sects of man.
The books and charts of the Assemblies of God and Trinitarian philosophers such as Clarence Larkin's, and Hal Lindsey are used for teaching the Revelation of Jesus Christ in all Pentecostal denominations. You can buy their books at the Oneness conferences and in their libraries. If a man does not understand the Godhead it is impossible for him to have the understanding of the book of Revelation.
All denominations are an extension of, some form of, Trinity doctrine started by the Catholic church. Some are closer to the truth than others, but all still hold to pagan holidays, teachings of Baal, traditions of men and the heresies of the Trinity.
We are required to know them that labor among us. It is the fruit of a brother's life, and the recommendation of other elders that should open the doors of the churches unto a minister of God, not any license of an organization. (Mat 7:16 KJV) Ye SHALL KNOW THEM BY THEIR FRUITS. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? (1 Th 5:12 KJV) And we beseech you, brethren, TO KNOW THEM WHICH LABOUR AMONG YOU, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you.
I want to state one more time all of the denominations cling to some of the doctrines and traditions of Babylon, the whore. Again I pray that you will seek for truth. It is important to know where our teachings come from. Are they of man or are they of God?
