The story of Jericho is a very important lesson for us as Christians. It helps us to understand the revelation of Jesus Christ, and how the walls of carnality are to fall under the powers of God. The children of Israel came into the land of their inheritance under the law. The first act that Joshua was to do, was to circumcise the children of Israel, none of them had been circumcised in the wilderness. (Josh 5:3 KJV) And Joshua made him SHARP KNIVES, and CIRCUMCISED the children of Israel at the hill of the FORESKINS. (Josh 5:4 KJV) And this is the cause why Joshua did circumcise: All the people that came out of Egypt, that were MALES, even all the men of war, died in the wilderness by the way, after they came out of Egypt. (Josh 5:5 KJV) Now all the people that came out were circumcised: but all the people that were born in the WILDERNESS by the way as they came forth out of Egypt, them they had not CIRCUMCISED.
I believe this is a type and shadow of the second covenant and represents being borne again. You cannot receive circumcision in the wilderness you must start at the first day of the creation of God. Then the kingdom must be taken by the new man. The seals must be broken, the trumpets must sound, and the thunders must be heard, the voice of God, and the carnal walls of your heart must come down. Only the true prophets of God can understand the seven thunders, or the true revelation of Jesus Christ. I hope to get more into the seven thunders later, but think on this. (Exo 20:18 KJV) And all the people saw the THUNDERINGS, and the LIGHTNING, and the noise of the TRUMPET, and the MOUNTAIN SMOKING: and when the people saw it, they removed, and stood afar off.
Interior walls of the spiritual man must also be without spot or blemish the same as the covering. (Lev 14:35 KJV) And he that owneth the house shall come and tell the priest, saying, It SEEMETH to me there is as it were a PLAGUE in the house: (Lev 14:36 KJV) Then the priest shall command that they empty the house, before the priest go into it to see the plague, that all that is in the house be not made unclean: and afterward the priest shall go in to see the house: (Lev 14:37 KJV) And he shall look on the plague, and, behold, if the plague be in the WALLS of the HOUSE with hollow streaks, greenish (PALE HORSE) or reddish (RED HORSE), which in sight are lower than the WALL; (Lev 14:38 KJV) Then the priest shall go out of the house to the door of the house, and SHUT UP the HOUSE SEVEN DAYS: (Lev 14:39 KJV) And the priest shall come again the SEVENTH DAY, and shall look: and, behold, if the plague be spread in the walls of the house. As I showed you in the study about the white horse and covering. The law of leprosy also pertains to the walls, or inner most part of our spiritual house, or heart.
We can use our physical heart as an example. Heart Walls - In the embryo the heart develops from the fusion of the two ventral aortas, forming a single pulsating organ. Separation into right and left heart takes place later with the formation of an interauricular and an interventricular septum (partition). Partition - something that divides; esp : an interior dividing Wall; to separate or divide by a partition (as a wall).
As the physical heart has barriers so does the spiritual heart. (Jer 4:3 KJV) For thus saith the LORD to the men of Judah and Jerusalem, Break up your FALLOW GROUND, and sow not among thorns. (Hosea 10:12 KJV) Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your FALLOW GROUND: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you. (Mat 19:8 KJV) He saith unto them, Moses because of the HARDNESS of your HEARTS suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so. (Mark 3:5 KJV) And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the HARDNESS of their HEARTS, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other. (Mark 10:5 KJV) And Jesus answered and said unto them, For the HARDNESS of your HEART he wrote you this precept. (Mark 16:14 KJV) Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and HARDNESS of HEART, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen. (Rom 2:5 KJV) But after thy HARDNESS and IMPENITENT HEART treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God.
As the house with leprosy was shut up by the high priest seven days, so was Jericho. (Josh 6:1 KJV) Now Jericho was STRAIGHTLY SHUT UP because of the children of Israel: NONE WENT OUT, and NONE CAME IN. If the walls of the carnal mind are not torn down by the seven days of the creation of God, then we are left to the resurrection of damnation, seven day creation of Satan, becoming altogether reprobate, another study. As it is in the kingdom of God, there is a paradox in the false kingdom that Satan rules.
The children of Israel marched once around the walls of Jericho for six days. Six represents man's number the walls still stood, but it brought them to the day of the Lord, we must enter into that one day. (Heb 3:13 KJV) But exhort one another daily, while it is called TO DAY; lest any of you be HARDENED through the DECEITFULNESS of sin (HARD HEART). (Heb 3:14 KJV) For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the END; (Heb 3:15 KJV) While it is said, TO DAY if ye will HEAR (THUNDERS) his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation. (Heb 3:16 KJV) For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses. (Heb 3:17 KJV) But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness? (Heb 3:18 KJV) And to whom sware he that they should not ENTER into his rest, but to them that believed not? (Heb 3:19 KJV) So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.
These all were circumcised in Egypt, but their circumcision became unbelief in the wilderness. You cannot be circumcised in unbelief, or the wilderness. Joshua and Caleb's circumcision remained good because of faith.

Ziv, zeev'; prob. from an unused root mean. to be prominent; prop. BRIGHTNESS [comp. H2122], i.e. (fig.) the month of flowers; Ziv (corresp. to Ijar or May):--Zif. These all pertain to Jesus the Christ.

JOSHUA - LEVITICAL PRIESTHOOD - (Ezra 3:2 KJV) Then stood up Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and his brethren the priests, and Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and his brethren, and builded the altar of the God of Israel, to offer burnt offerings thereon, as it is written in the law of Moses the man of God. (Ezra 3:3 KJV) And they set the altar upon his bases; for fear was upon them because of the people of those countries: and they offered burnt offerings thereon unto the LORD, even burnt offerings morning and evening.
ZERUBBABEL - JUDAH PRIESTHOOD OF CHRIST (Hag 1:1 KJV) In the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, in the first day of the month, came the word of the LORD by Haggai the prophet unto Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, GOVERNOR OF JUDAH, and to JOSHUA the SON of Josedech, the HIGH PRIEST.
JOSHUA - Carries the same name that represents the LEVITICAL PRIESTHOOD. What's so interesting is, Joshua is from the house of Ephraim. (Num 13:8 KJV) Of the tribe of Ephraim, Oshea the son of Nun. Ephraim through Joseph received a double portion. Oshea's name was changed to Joshua representing the changing of the priesthood and the fruitful priesthood of Jesus Christ, a greater light than the law, or Moses. As the almond represents the first fruit of the season, so was Jesus the first fruit unto God. This is why the lamp stand has the knops, blossoms, and almonds on it. The almonds represent the first fruit, and means to watch and be alert. We are the 144,000 being the first fruit, and we are told to watch. We are to be as the almond tree in the garden of God. (Mat 24:42 KJV) Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. (Rom 8:23 KJV) And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.
Almond - 8247. shaqed, shaw-kade'; from H8245; the almond (tree or nut; as being the earliest in bloom):--almond (tree).
CALEB - JUDAH PRIESTHOOD OF CHRIST (Num 13:6 KJV) Of the tribe of JUDAH, Caleb the son of Jephunneh. CHRIST JESUS would be rejected by the Jews, and was sent to the gentiles, or dogs in the eyes of the Jews. The meaning of Caleb is; Hebrew 3612. Kaleb, kaw-labe'; perh. a form of H3611, or else from the same root in the sense of forcible; Caleb, the name of three Isr.:--Caleb. Hebrew 3611. keleb, keh'-leb; from an unused root mean. to yelp, or else to attack; a DOG; hence (by euphemism) a MALE PROSTITUTE:--DOG.
LEVITICAL PRIEST HOOD - (1 Cor 15:56 KJV) The sting of death is SIN; and the STRENGTH of SIN is the LAW. Under the law their was much blood shed. The life is in the blood, there had to be a way that the law would bring forth life instead of death. The moon was turned to blood when Jesus died, AND THE LAW WAS FULFILLED. Through his life, priesthood, OR BY HIM BEING OUR COVENANT, eternal life was given, and the law that was bloody became life. (Exo 4:25 KJV) Then Zipporah took a sharp stone, and cut off the FORESKIN of her son, and cast it at his feet, and said, Surely a BLOODY HUSBAND art thou to me. God does not want to be a bloody husband.
(Zec 3:3 KJV) Now Joshua was clothed with FILTHY GARMENTS, and stood before the angel. (Zec 3:4 KJV) And he answered and spake unto those that stood before him, saying, Take AWAY the FILTHY GARMENTS from him. And unto him he said, Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I will clothe thee with CHANGE OF RAIMENT.
The law which is the strength of sin was put under our feet. (Luke 10:19 KJV) Behold, I give unto you POWER to tread on SERPENTS and scorpions, and over all the POWER of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. The power that was given to the High Priest, scribes and Pharisees was through the law making them look white. The law is the sword, or word, of the rider that rides the red horse. (Mat 23:33 KJV) Ye SERPENTS, ye generation of VIPERS, how can ye escape the damnation of hell? The power or strength of Satan was the law. It was so powerful that it put the son of God to death.
Churches of today still try and live by the law, legalism, and they die. (Luke 18:20 KJV) Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother. (Luke 18:21 KJV) And he said, All these have I kept from my youth up. (Luke 18:22 KJV) Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me. People who think they are good moral members of a denomination sound the same way, all of these laws I keep. I always go to church. They say, I am a good moral person, looking at their righteous. (Isa 64:6 KJV) But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. Notice they say, "I AM," The Lord Jesus is the only I AM.
The moon was turned to blood and we were clothed with the sun. (Rev 12:1 KJV) And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman CLOTHED with the SUN, and the MOON under HER FEET, and upon her head a CROWN of twelve stars. Our covenant is Jesus the rider of the white horse that carries the bow, our arrows are shot at our enemies through the power of the covenant, Jesus Christ. (Rev 19:11 KJV) And I saw heaven opened, and behold a WHITE HORSE; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make WAR.
(Heb 10:5 KJV) Wherefore when HE cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a BODY hast thou PREPARED me: (Heb 10:6 KJV) In burnt OFFERINGS and SACRIFICES for SIN thou hast had NO PLEASURE. (Heb 10:7 KJV) Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the BOOK it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God. (Heb 10:8 KJV) Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the LAW; (Heb 10:9 KJV) Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He TAKETH AWAY the FIRST, that he may ESTABLISH the SECOND. (Heb 10:10 KJV) By the which will WE ARE SANCTIFIED through the OFFERING of the BODY of Jesus Christ ONCE FOR ALL. No more death or shedding of blood, but only life through Jesus Christ.
We start in Egypt; (Mat 2:15 KJV) And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son. We are all the sons of God, and are called out of Egypt. (Psa 68:31 KJV) PRINCES shall COME OUT of EGYPT; ETHIOPIA shall soon stretch out her hands unto God. (Isa 19:22 KJV) And the LORD shall smite Egypt: he shall smite and HEAL it: and they SHALL RETURN EVEN TO THE LORD, and he shall be ENTREATED of them, and shall HEAL them. (Isa 19:23 KJV) In that DAY shall there be a highway OUT OF EGYPT to ASSYRIA, and the Assyrian shall come into Egypt, and the Egyptian into Assyria, and the Egyptians shall serve with the Assyrians. (Isa 19:24 KJV) In that DAY shall ISRAEL be the THIRD with EGYPT and with Assyria, even a BLESSING in the midst of the land: (Isa 19:25 KJV) Whom the LORD of hosts shall BLESS, saying, BLESSED be EGYPT MY PEOPLE, and ASSYRIA the WORK OF MY HANDS, and ISRAEL mine inheritance.
SOUTH - 5045. negeb, neh'-gheb; from an unused root mean. to be parched; the south (from its drought); spec. the Negeb or SOUTHERN DISTRICT OF JUDAH, occasionally, EGYPT (as south to Pal.):--south (country, side, -ward).
On the seventh day of marching notice the order of things. (Josh 6:4 KJV) And SEVEN PRIESTS (MINISTERS) shall bear before the ARK SEVEN TRUMPETS of RAM'S HORNS: and the SEVENTH DAY ye shall COMPASS the CITY SEVEN TIMES, and the PRIESTS shall BLOW with the TRUMPETS. (Rev 8:6 KJV) And the SEVEN ANGELS (MINISTERS) which had the SEVEN TRUMPETS prepared themselves to SOUND.
In Joshua seven trumpets made of the HORNS of a beast (ITS POWER) is given to be used as an instrument unto God through HIS POWER. When we put our power (horn of the beast) into the hands of God, ALLOWING IT to be used by God, our almighty God will work through us. The carnal walls of resistance come tumbling down. (Josh 6:5 KJV) And it shall come to pass, that when they make a long blast with the ram's horn, and when ye HEAR the SOUND of the TRUMPET, all the people shall SHOUT with a GREAT SHOUT; and the WALL of the city shall FALL DOWN FLAT, and the people shall ascend up every man STRAIGHT (straight path) before him. I believe this great shout was like the SOUND OF THUNDER, the VOICE OF GOD.
One more thought SCARLET was used by the priest in the treatment for the healing of leprosy; (Lev 14:4 KJV) Then shall the priest command to take for him that is to be cleansed two birds alive and clean, and cedar wood, and SCARLET, and hyssop. Remember Rahab there is hope. (Josh 2:18 KJV) Behold, when we come into the land, thou shalt bind this line of SCARLET THREAD in the window which thou didst let us down by: and thou shalt bring thy father, and thy mother, and thy brethren, and all thy father's household, home unto thee.
