Perfection

PERFECT - Hebrew8549. tamiym, taw-meem'; from Heb8552; entire (lit., fig. or mor.); also (as noun) integrity, truth:-WITHOUT BLEMISH, complete, full, PERFECT, sincerely (-ity), sound, WITHOUT SPOT, UNDEFILED, upright (-ly), whole. Greek5048. teleioo, tel-i-o'-o; from Grk5046; to complete, i.e. (lit.) accomplish, or (fig.) CONSUMMATE (in character):-consecrate, finish, fulfill, make) perfect.
HOLY - Hebrew6944. qodesh, ko'-desh; from Heb6942; a sacred place or thing; rarely abstr. sanctity:-consecrated (thing), dedicated (thing), HALLOWED (thing), holiness, (X most) HOLY (X day, portion, thing), saint, sanctuary. Greek40. hagios, hag'-ee-os; from hagos (an awful thing) [comp. Grk53, Heb2282]; SACRED (phys. pure, mor. BLAMELESS or religious, cer. consecrated):-(most) holy (one, thing), saint.
It is a sad thing to know that most people do not believe that we can be perfect, while we live in Christ Jesus. I have heard some of the best known religious leaders of today preach we are all sinners. Another common saying is as long as we are in the flesh we will never be perfect. The truth is we are not suppose to be in the flesh, carnal mind. (Col 3:9) Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have PUT OFF the OLD MAN with his deeds. If we put off the old man and put on the new man we have put on Christ which is PERFECT.
First we are saints of God, but most people do not think of themselves as saints. (Romans 1:7) To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ. (Romans 8:27) And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. (Eph 4:11) And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; (Eph 4:12) For the PERFECTING of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: (Col 1:26) Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made MANIFEST to his SAINTS.
If I ask the Lord to forgive me, he forgives me of all the sins I have committed. When he forgives me of every sin, then I am without sin at that time. (1 John 1:9) If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to CLEANSE us from ALL UNRIGHTEOUSNESS. If I am cleansed from all unrighteousness I am PERFECT, in the eyes of God.
Did Jesus say something impossible when he said, (Matthew 5:48) Be ye therefore PERFECT, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. It is true we cannot do it within ourselves, but: (Phil 4:13) I can do all things through Christ which strengthened me, not some things but all things. (1 Peter 1:16) Because it is written, Be ye HOLY; for I am HOLY.
If I do sin (MAKE A MISTAKE) then I can repent and STAY perfect. (1 John 2:1) My little children, these things write I unto you, that YE SIN NOT. And IF any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: First John says (SIN NOT), if we WILLFULLY sin we are of the devil. (1 John 3:8) He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might DESTROY the WORKS of the DEVIL. The Devil's works are WILLFUL sin.
Since the blood of goats and bulls could not take away sins there needed to be a sacrifice that could make us perfect. (Hebrews 10:4) For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should TAKE AWAY SINS. (Hebrews 10:7) Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God. (Hebrews 10:8) Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law; (Hebrews 10:9) Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh AWAY THE FIRST, that he may ESTABLISH the second. (Hebrews 10:10) By the which will we are SANCTIFIED through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. (Hebrews 10:11) And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never TAKE AWAY SINS: (Hebrews 10:12) But this man, after he had offered ONE SACRIFICE FOR SINS FOR EVER, sat down on the right hand of God; (Hebrews 10:13) From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his FOOTSTOOL. (Hebrews 10:14) For by ONE offering he hath PERFECTED FOR EVER THEM THAT ARE SANCTIFIED. (Hebrews 10:26) For if we SIN WILLFULLY after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there REMAINETH no more SACRIFICE FOR SINS.
Some believe we have sin that we do not know about but the bible says. (James 4:17) Therefore to him that KNOWETH to do good, and doeth it not, TO HIM IT IS SIN. Above it says, received the knowledge of the truth, Paul also said: (Romans 5:13) For until the law sin was in the world: but SIN IS NOT IMPUTED when there is no law.
We find Paul talked to ones that had reached perfection. (1 Cor 2:6) Howbeit we speak wisdom among THEM THAT ARE PERFECT: yet NOT the WISDOM of THIS WORLD, nor of the PRINCES of this WORLD, that come to NAUGHT. Perfection cannot be understood by the carnal mind.
(2 Cor 13:11) Finally, brethren, farewell. Be PERFECT, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you. Paul said, be PERFECT and again James said: (James 3:2) For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in WORD, the same is a PERFECT man, and able also to bridle the whole body. If through the Holy Ghost I speak the word of God not offending the Lord in all I do I am perfect before him. I become the living word walking among men, a LIVING EPISTLE read by all men. Jesus said: (Luke 6:40) The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is PERFECT shall be as his master. (John 17:23) I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made PERFECT in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
Do not deceive yourselves if you are still a sinner, WILLFULLY COMMITTING SIN, you do not belong to Jesus. We are washed through his blood being made pure WITHOUT SPOT, or BLEMISH a HOLY people. (1 Peter 2:9) But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an HOLY NATION, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light. We are the body of Christ and that body is a body without sin. (1 Cor 6:15) Know ye not that your bodies are the MEMBERS OF CHRIST? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an HARLOT? God forbid.
(Romans 4:8) Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin. The Lord will not impute sin to his own body. His BLOOD REMOVES ALL SIN, and his blood must be applied to our lives at all times. Our ways and righteousness is filth in the eyes of Jesus and our Heavenly Father. (Isaiah 64:6) But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
The bible also says: (Psalm 14:3) They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one. In the flesh, CARNAL MIND, there is nothing good, but we are not in ourselves, we are in Christ and he is in us. The HOLY OF HOLLIES is in us, we are his habitation. Therefore it is no longer I that lives, but it is Christ living in me, and it is Christ Jesus THAT OVERCOMES SIN. This is why I am set free from sin and therefore am no longer under bondage to sin. I am set free from condemnation. (Romans 8:1) There is therefore now no CONDEMNATION to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. People who have to constantly repent have not CEASED FROM THEIR WORKS. (Hebrews 4:10) For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath CEASED from HIS OWN WORKS, as God did from his.
Peter said: (Hebrews 6:1) Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us GO ON UNTO PERFECTION; not laying again the foundation of REPENTANCE FROM DEAD WORKS, and of faith toward God. If our works are dead, or not of the Lord they are the works of this world. The works of this world will send us to hell. (James 3:10) Out of the same mouth proceedeth BLESSING and CURSING. My brethren, these things ought not so to be. (Gal 5:19) Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, (Gal 5:20) Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, (Gal 5:21) Envying, murders, drunkenness, reveling, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things SHALL NOT inherit the kingdom of God.
We must be about our father's business doing his work in his fields, bringing forth fruit in him. (Gal 5:22) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, (Gal 5:23) Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. (Gal 5:24) And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. Unless we crucify the flesh and bring forth fruit having works in Christ we have nothing. (James 2:26) For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
People are mislead when they believe we are not able to be perfect through Christ now. They fail because they have not crucified the flesh. (Romans 6:6) Knowing this, that OUR OLD MAN is CRUCIFIED with him, that the BODY OF SIN might be DESTROYED, that henceforth we should not SERVE SIN. (Eph 4:22) That ye put off concerning the former conversation the OLD MAN, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; (Col 3:9) Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have PUT OFF the OLD MAN WITH HIS DEEDS. The OLD MAN THAT WE PUT OFF IS SATAN.
If I abide in my Saviour I am free from sin. (Romans 6:18) Being then made FREE FROM SIN, ye became the servants of righteousness. (Romans 6:22) But now being made FREE FROM SIN, and become servants to God, ye have your FRUIT unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. God is coming after a church without spot or blemish. (2 Peter 3:14) Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, WITHOUT SPOT, and BLAMELESS.
Blameless - Greek410. anegkletos, an-eng'-klay-tos; from Grk1 (as a neg. particle) and a der. of Grk1458; unaccused, i.e. (by impl.) IRREPROACHABLE: - blameless.
(Titus 1:7) For a bishop must be BLAMELESS, as the steward of God; not self-willed, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre; (1 Cor 2:6) Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are PERFECT: yet NOT the WISDOM OF THIS WORLD, nor of the princes of this world, that come to NAUGHT: A servant of the Lord Jesus who is able to do all things through Christ Jesus.
